The Saudi Ports Authority “Mawani” has announced the addition of WAN HAI LINE’s new shipping service “FM1” to Jeddah Islamic Port, a move that enhances the competitiveness of Saudi ports on the global maritime transport map, supports smooth trade flows, expands commercial opportunities, and promotes national exports.
The new shipping service connects Jeddah Islamic Port with 10 regional and global ports, including Shanghai, Ningbo, Nansha, and Shekou in China; Klang in Malaysia; Aqaba in Jordan; Sokhna and Alexandria in Egypt; as well as Izmit and Istanbul in Turkey. The service offers a handling capacity of up to 4,532 TEUs.

This step is part of Mawani’s ongoing efforts to strengthen the Kingdom’s ranking in global performance indicators, increase operational efficiency at Jeddah Islamic Port, and support the movement of national exports, in line with the objectives of the National Transport and Logistics Strategy to solidify the Kingdom’s standing as a global logistics hub bridging the three continents.
It is worth noting that Jeddah Islamic Port is the largest port on the Red Sea coast for its strategic location and being equipped with 62 multipurpose berths. This grants it a pivotal role at both the regional and global levels and reinforces the Kingdom’s leadership in the maritime sector.
