The General Authority of Ports (Mawani) announced the addition of Marsa Ocean Shipping's new "JSS" shipping service to Jeddah Islamic Port. This service will contribute to increasing direct trade opportunities and maritime shipping operations between the Kingdom and countries around the world, and supporting national exports.
The new shipping service connects Jeddah Islamic Port with Port Sudan in Sudan, with a capacity of up to 1,118 standard containers. This comes as part of Mawani's efforts to enhance the Kingdom's ranking in global performance indicators and raise the efficiency of operational processes at Jeddah Islamic Port, supporting national exports.

This is in line with the objectives of the National Strategy for Transport and Logistics, which aims to consolidate the Kingdom's position as a global logistics center and a hub connecting three continents. It is worth noting that Jeddah Islamic Port is one of the most prominent ports in the region in terms of capacity, with a capacity of 130 million tons.
The port features an advanced infrastructure that includes 62 multi-purpose berths, in addition to several specialized stations, including two container handling terminals, two general cargo terminals, two docks dedicated to ship repair and marine maintenance, and a group of berths dedicated to providing maritime services.
