The Saudi Ports Authority “MAWANI” has announced the addition of the shipping service “SJA”, operated by CULINES, to Jeddah Islamic Port, in a move that enhances the competitiveness of Saudi ports on the global maritime map. The new service aims to facilitate smoother trade flows, expand commercial opportunities, and elevate operational efficiency.
The “SJA” service connects Jeddah Islamic Port with Ain Sokhna Port in Egypt and Aden Port in Yemen, with a total handling capacity of 900 TEUs.
This initiative reflects Mawani’s ongoing efforts to strengthen the Kingdom’s standing in global performance indicators, and support national export growth, in line with the targets of the National Transport and Logistics Strategy (NTLS), to solidify the Kingdom’s standing as a global logistics hub bridging the three continents.
It is worth noting that Jeddah Islamic Port is the largest port on the Red Sea coast, strategically located and equipped with 62 multi-purpose berths. This makes it a pivotal hub both regionally and internationally, playing a key role in reinforcing the Kingdom’s leadership in the maritime transport sector.
