The National Shipping Company of Saudi Arabia (Bahri) and the Saudi Iron and Steel Company (Hadeed) signed a letter of intent to explore opportunities for cooperation in maritime transport to meet Hadeed's needs for transporting iron ore by sea. The letter, signed in Riyadh, states that the two parties intend to discuss mechanisms for utilizing Bahri's capabilities to fulfill Hadeed's requirements for maritime transport services.
This collaboration aims to explore joint opportunities between Bahri and Hadeed, including the possibility of developing and building new customized vessels that meet the operational and technical needs of Hadeed's operations within the Kingdom.
On this occasion, Bahri CEO, Eng. Ahmed Al-Subaie, said: “This collaboration represents an important step towards strengthening the national maritime transport system, and we at Bahri reaffirm our commitment to supporting supply chains and providing reliable and flexible shipping solutions that contribute to raising the efficiency of operations for our partners.”
For his part, Hadeed CEO Abdulqader Al-Mubarak stated: “Hadeed is continuously working to develop its operational and logistical systems, and this cooperation with Bahri is a supportive step to secure specialized maritime transport solutions that meet our operational needs and enhance the efficiency of the industrial sector.”
This cooperation comes within the framework of enhancing industrial and operational integration and localizing value chains, as “Bahri” represents the Kingdom’s national maritime carrier and has a global logistical presence, while “Hadeed” is one of the most prominent major national industrial companies in the iron and steel sector.
