The Saudi Ports Authority announced the addition of the new shipping service Red Sea Express "TRE" by Hapag-Lloyd to Jeddah Islamic Port. This move aims to enhance economic relations between the Kingdom and ports worldwide and to meet the increasing demands of international trade in the region.

This initiative is part of Mawani’s strategy to strengthen the connectivity of the Kingdom’s ports with global ports and to attract major global shipping companies. It aligns with the objectives of the National Transport and Logistics Strategy (NTLS), which aims to solidify the Kingdom’s standing as a global logistics hub bridging the three continents.

The new shipping service connects Jeddah Islamic Port with the ports of Istanbul, Izmit, and Aliaga in Turkey, and Aqaba in Jordan, through regular weekly trips with a capacity of up to 1,130 TEUs.
