The Saudi Ports Authority “Mawani” has announced that “Evergreen” added the new shipping service “TPA” to King Abdul Aziz Port in Dammam, connecting the Kingdom with Chinese ports and the Pacific Ocean. This enhances trade and export movements, increases the effectiveness of linking the Kingdom to global markets, and contributes to the development of maritime communication routes.

This achievement reflects “Mawani’s” growing efforts to enhance port efficiency and develop infrastructure. King Abdul Aziz Port in Dammam has witnessed the laying of the cornerstone for the development and operation projects of two container terminals in 2023. This will be in cooperation with the Saudi Global Ports Company “SGP”, with an investment value exceeding seven billion riyals, according to the “BOT” system; this is expected to increase the capacity of container terminals by more than 120%, reaching 7.5 million TEUs.

The new shipping service connects King Abdul Aziz Port in Dammam with 11 regional and international ports, including: Kelang in Malaysia; Cai Mep in Vietnam; Hong Kong, Qingdao, Ningbo, Shanghai, and Yantian in China; Taipei and Kaohsiung in Taiwan; Um Qasr in Iraq; and Jebel Ali in the United Arab Emirates, through regular weekly trips with a capacity of up to 6,000 TEUs.

It is worth noting that King Abdul Aziz Port in Dammam is the main port of the Kingdom on the Arabian Gulf. Connected to the dry port in Riyadh by a railway, it serves as a primary conduit through which goods from all over the world pass to the Eastern and Central regions, in line with the National Transport and Logistics Strategy (NTLS), to solidify the Kingdom’s standing as a global logistics hub bridging three continents.
