The Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE)-based communications provider has introduced connectivity across radiocommunications frequencies using different networks of satellites with coverage across 16 countries.

Etisalat will offer fully managed maritime services compliant with local regulations for information communications and technology solutions on vessels.

Services include supplying and installing hardware, connectivity, satellite coverage and managing equipment for shipping, oil barges, private yachts and other commercial vessels.

This will be supported by UAE-based satellite earth stations and an operating centre supporting international satellite constellations operating in multiple frequency bands.

Etisalat by e& senior vice president for business marketing and product innovation Oscar Garcia said these maritime services will be tailored for vessel owners.

This firmly positions Etisalat as a regional ICT enabler for shipowners and operators,” he said.

The maritime ICT solution includes value-added services for managing crew communications, welfare services and internet access, onboard wifi, television and internet of things.

Etisalat will provide terminals and telecommunications infrastructure, managed security, private networks and voice services with a range of downlink and uplink speed options to suit any maritime requirement.
