With a keen focus on the future of maritime learning, Jordan Academy for Maritime Studies (JAMS) had its lookout on preparing the workforce for an ever-changing industry during Saudi Maritime Congress’ session titled “Developing and Training the Maritime Workforce”. Dr. Eng. Ma’n Mustafa Amin Massad, Manager, Quality Management and Business Development Center (JAMS) explained the role of JAMS in building the skills of the young workforce.

Jordan Academy for Maritime Studies started in 2004, in aims to provide the maritime sector with the workforce needed to enhance the industry. We started in Jordan and then moved our educational and training programs to other Arab countries and helped students, from all over the world, graduate from our academy. Many of our graduated colleagues are here at the Saudi Maritime Congress and that makes us very proud as we feel we are working for the future. Together with other academies, which we have a great relationship, we shall work to make the maritime industry a better place.”

Highlighting the quality of training, Dr. Massad explained JAMS’ efforts to cover all aspects of today’s remote learning technologies: “It was certainly difficult to ensure that the quality of programs was delivered especially via distance learning during the pandemic, which had its negative and positive effects. We have developed new remote learning systems and platforms to cover the main areas of the learning processes. JAMS looks to cover all aspects of the remote learning technologies to deliver all courses virtually and physically with the same quality.
