Largest container ship in the world receives ABS classification
Evergreen's giant container vessel, Ever Alot has received classification from the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS).
It is the largest container ship in the world, with a capacity of just over 24,000 TEU.
"We are proud to support the design, construction and successful delivery of such a remarkable vessel through the challenges of the pandemic," said John McDonald, ABS executive vice president and COO.
The vessel is the latest in a series of five being built by Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding in China to ABS class.
"As the leading class in container ships, we have a record of supporting industry firsts and this milestone is the latest we are proud to add to that list," McDonald added.
ABS provides container ship-oriented support and solutions, from firefighting and lashing to decarbonisation and sustainable solutions.
