Lloyd’s Register’s Hanseaticsoft and data analytics company Kaiko Systems have aligned their software solutions to improve technical management and collaboration between vessels and staff on shore

Hanseaticsoft provides Cloud Fleet Manager (CFM) for shipowners and management companies with more than 40 different modules to enhance vessel and fleet efficiencies.

Kaiko Systems has developed smart tools for technical management and data analytics on board, to provide verified insights on operations and performance. Its mobile-first tool instructs crews to perform technical tasks, such as inspections and maintenance, verifies data reliability, and offers actionable insights to help shore teams optimise maintenance plans.

Kaiko Systems will be integrated with the Disturbance Report module of CFM to reduce the time seafarers spend on double entry and desktop work, and time spent by technical teams on administrative work.

Kaiko Systems co-founder and chief executive Fabian Fussek said this integration includes verifying inspection data. “Data plausibility checks are key to reliable technical management,” he said. “We are making it easier for globally distributed vessel crews to fulfil their reporting duties and escalate issues.”

He said seafarers are becoming overwhelmed by administrative tasks because of stricter regulations. “The combination of Kaiko Systems and Cloud Fleet Manager is a tremendous step towards bringing a standardised and verified dataset at scale to the maritime industry,” said Mr Fussek.

Hanseaticsoft chief executive Alexander Buchmann continued with this theme. “Standardisation is the fastest way to make data work,” he said. “Kaiko’s mobile app guides seafarers through manual operations and data collection, while automatically conducting plausibility checks,” said Mr Buchmann.

The compression technology allows for fast data transfer, even with limited internet. This improves collaboration between ship and shore.”

He expects Hanseaticsoft’s partnership with Kaiko to “bring technical departments efficiency, significantly enhanced data quality, and more proactive operations from day one.”
