The Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) announced the addition of the new China Red-Sea shipping service, operated by Global Feeder Shipping LLC, along with RCL and TS Lines, to Jeddah Islamic Port. This will facilitate global trade, strengthen supply chains, and enhance operational efficiency at the port.
The new shipping service connects Jeddah Islamic Port with the ports of Shanghai, Qingdao, Nansha, and Shekou in China, Sokhna in Egypt, and Aqaba in Jordan, with a capacity of up to 441 TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent units).
This initiative aligns with Mawani's efforts to improve the Kingdom's ranking in global performance indicators, thereby supporting national exports and supporting the objectives of the National Transport and Logistics Strategy, which aims to solidify the Kingdom's position as a global logistics hub and a link between three continents.
It is worth mentioning that Jeddah Islamic Port includes 62 multi-purpose berths, a logistics services area for depositing and re-exporting, a direct truck transport system to and from the port, in addition to a number of specialized stations and advanced equipment, and a group of berths for marine services from Qatar and marine pilotage, and its capacity reaches 130 million tons.
