Leadership Highlights:
Reggie Vermeulen, CEO of Port of Duqm, participated in the main panel discussion “Duqm’s New Horizons”, emphasizing the Port’s role in driving industrial growth, boosting international trade, and supporting supply chains in alignment with Oman Vision 2040.
Philip Heylen, Board Member of Port of Duqm, spoke in the panel “Talent Magnet: Live, Work and Play”, highlighting the importance of creating an integrated environment that nurtures future leaders through advanced infrastructure, professional growth opportunities, and vibrant communities.
Representing Port of Duqm’s Belgium shareholder, Alex Van Breedam participated in “The Green Blueprint, in the Net Zero Era”, sharing insights on sustainable industrial transformation and the role of smart logistics in achieving carbon neutrality.
Erwin Verstraelen took part in “The Art of Agility – Manufacturing in a Fast-Paced World”, focusing on digital innovation, adaptive infrastructure, and agile leadership to address global manufacturing challenges.
Smart Transitions Workshop:
The Port of Duqm hosted the “Smart Transitions” workshop, bringing together experts from Port of Antwerp-Bruges International and the Oman Net Zero Center.
The session explored strategies to tackle global supply chain challenges, showcased the latest innovations in energy, mobility, and infrastructure, and emphasized aligning with Oman Vision 2040 through sustainable, carbon-neutral strategies.
The workshop was led by Alex Van Breedam, CEO of TRI-VIZOR and Professor at the University of Leuven, Erwin Verstraelen, Vice President of Innovation at Port of Antwerp-Bruges, and Raiyan Al Farsi, Sustainability Engineer at Oman Net Zero Center.
The session strengthened leadership concepts, cross-sector collaboration, and resilience-building, preparing a new generation of leaders to drive Oman’s transformation toward a smarter, sustainable future.
