DNV has reaffirmed its commitment to advancing Saudi Arabia’s maritime sector by continuing to invest in the development of local knowledge and talent. In collaboration with the Department of Maritime Studies at King Abdulaziz University (KAU), DNV recently conducted a specialized training session titled “Class Systematic & Statutory Inspections” for a group of marine engineering students.
The session was delivered by Nizar Abuzinada, Senior Surveyor & Auditor and Deputy Saudi Arabia Flag Liaison Officer at DNV Maritime. The event also welcomed Abdullah Nakhothah, Fleet Manager at Bahri, whose contributions play a significant role in preparing KAU’s maritime students for professional careers in the sector.
“Supporting and developing local talent is central to DNV’s mission in Saudi Arabia. Our collaboration with the Faculty of Maritime Studies at KAU reflects this commitment, as does the launch of our Saudi Maritime Academy, both key steps in supporting the Kingdom’s growing maritime competence,” said Sadiq AlMutawa, Country Manager, DNV Saudi Arabia and Bahrain.
