The facility covers more than 110,000 square meters, with an investment value exceeding SAR 100 million.
This milestone aligns with Mawani’s ongoing efforts to develop an integrated and efficient infrastructure that strengthens supply chains, boosts regional trade flows, and enhances partnerships with the private sector while attracting both local and international investments.
On this occasion, H.E. Eng. Suliman bin Khalid Al-Mazroua, President of the Saudi Ports Authority, stated that the project represents a significant addition to King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam and reflects the growing confidence of the private sector in the Kingdom’s investment climate. He noted that the Kingdom continues to witness notable advancements that reinforce its leadership in the maritime sector in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
For his part, CEO of Abyat Mohammed Khaled Abul emphasized that the presence of the Minister of Transport and Logistics Services and Chairman of Mawani, Eng. Saleh Al-Jasser, underscores the strong support provided by the Kingdom’s leadership to the logistics sector and national development projects. He added that this commitment reflects the Kingdom’s dedication to empowering logistics services and enhancing the competitiveness of the national economy, in line with the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince to establish a globally leading logistics ecosystem that drives future growth and development.
Abul highlighted that the project includes an integrated 40,000-square-meter bonded zone designated for storing goods under customs supervision. He noted that Abyat is among the first companies licensed to establish and operate such zones. He also praised the facilitation efforts provided by Mawani and the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority, which have helped enhance the logistics environment and strengthen private-sector readiness, supporting a national vision that positions the Kingdom as a premier regional and global logistics hub.
He added that the bonded zone will enable Abyat to accelerate customs clearance, improve cargo flow efficiency, reduce shipment transit time, and lower operating costs through cargo consolidation and optimized pre-distribution storage. This will directly support logistics operations across the Kingdom and the GCC region.
Abul further explained that the development strengthens the company’s logistics capabilities and enhances its readiness to meet market demands amid rapid growth in the construction and building-materials sectors. It forms a core pillar of Abyat’s strategy to expand its operational capacity, optimize supply chain management, and accelerate product delivery across the Kingdom and the Gulf, serving as a strategic foundation for the company’s regional expansion plans.
He added that the inauguration of the new warehouses represents a strategic milestone that reaffirms Abyat’s commitment to supporting the Kingdom’s transport and logistics ecosystem. The warehouses also strengthen Abyat’s role as a key partner in achieving the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 and keeping pace with growth across multiple sectors. He noted that the new warehouses will contribute to enhanced distribution efficiency and network connectivity.
He added that the company is steadily advancing its expansion plan in the Kingdom, with total investments exceeding SAR 3.5 billion and an annual growth rate of 23%, driven by continuous expansion and strategic partnerships.
Abul concluded by noting that Abyat is not only a provider of building and finishing materials but also operates its own manufacturing facilities across 120,000 square meters in cooperation with MODON and the Saudi Industrial Development Fund. This ensures that Abyat’s products proudly carry the “Made in Saudi Arabia” label. The company has created more than 1,400 jobs and enabled 100% Saudi production of kitchens, doors, and windows reinforcing its role as a key contributor to economic and urban development in the Kingdom.
