ADNOC Logistics and Services has launched the Gulf region’s first AI-powered Smart Port Solution to improve petroleum port operations. The system cuts turnaround times, boosts efficiency, and marks a significant step in the digital transformation of maritime logistics.
ADNOC Logistics and Services has rolled out the Gulf Cooperation Council’s first artificial intelligence-driven Smart Port Solution, introducing a new level of efficiency to petroleum port operations in the United Arab Emirates.
The technology, developed with Singapore-based Innovez One, is being applied across ADNOC’s key oil and gas terminals, including Das, Zirku, Mubaraz, Ruwais, and Jebel Dhana. By optimizing resource allocation and enabling real-time tracking of marine activity, the system is designed to streamline port services and improve overall operational performance.
According to ADNOC, the solution has already delivered major gains. Vessel turnaround time has been reduced by up to 90 percent, cutting service sourcing from three hours to just 45 seconds. The company estimates that the new system will save 3,000 operational hours annually, translating into cost savings of $950,000 by 2028. Jetty utilization has risen by 20 percent, while overall vessel management efficiency has improved by 10 percent.
Capt. Abdulkareem Al-Masabi, chief executive officer of ADNOC Logistics and Services, said the initiative reflects the company’s focus on innovation in the maritime sector. “This smart port solution reinforces our commitment to leveraging AI to optimize operations, drive value for our business and customers, and advance sustainability,” he said.

David Yeo, chief executive officer of Innovez One, underlined the broader impact of the collaboration. “Our AI-driven solution not only streamlines workflows but also supports ADNOC L&S’s sustainability goals, positioning UAE petroleum ports as a global benchmark for smart operations,” he said.
For the maritime industry, the launch signals how digital technology is reshaping the way traditional port and terminal operations are managed. With global shipping facing increasing pressure to reduce costs and improve efficiency while meeting new sustainability demands, the ability to manage resources through AI tools is becoming more critical.
ADNOC’s move also places the UAE at the forefront of digital transformation in port logistics within the Gulf region. Industry analysts note that efficiency gains at oil and gas terminals have a direct impact on shipping companies, charterers, and global energy supply chains, making such initiatives central to competitiveness.
By adopting advanced digital systems, ADNOC L&S is not only enhancing its own operations but also setting a standard that other regional ports may follow. The combination of shorter vessel turnaround times, improved utilization of infrastructure, and reduced emissions aligns with the broader goals of the maritime sector to modernize while keeping sustainability at the core of operations.
