Lieutenant General Osama Rabie, Chairman of the Suez Canal Authority, witnessed the handover ceremony of the International Accreditation Council’s ISO 17024 accreditation certificate to the Suez Canal Authority’s Vocational Training Center in Port Said. This took place during his reception of Engineer Mohamed Hassan Abdel Halim, Executive Director of the National Accreditation Council, in the presence of Lieutenant General Ashraf Atwa, Vice Chairman of the Authority, at the Guidance Building in Ismailia Governorate.
This comes in implementation of the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, to pay attention to technical education, and as a culmination of efforts to develop the human element in the Suez Canal Authority, whereby the Authority’s technicians in the fields of (welding - electricity - mechanics - carpentry) will obtain certificates in accordance with the highest internationally recognized standards by the National Accreditation Council (EGAC), the International Accreditation Forum (IAF), the African Accreditation Cooperation (AFRAC), and the Arab Accreditation Body (ARAC).
For his part, Lieutenant General Osama Rabie, Chairman of the Authority, stressed the importance of this step in enhancing global confidence in the national technical competencies of graduates of the Port Said Vocational Training Center in line with the requirements of the labor market.
The head of the authority explained that the accreditation of the vocational training center in Port Said comes as a first phase within a comprehensive strategy to develop and accredit all training centers affiliated with the authority and extending across the Canal region, to ensure the authority’s leadership in performing its pivotal role in supporting the national economy through qualified human resources with the highest international standards.
For his part, Engineer Mohamed Hassan Abdel Halim, Executive Director of the National Accreditation Council, expressed his delight at the cooperation with the Suez Canal Authority’s Vocational Training Center in Port Said, which resulted in its international accreditation in the fields of welding, electricity, mechanics, and carpentry, praising the ambitious vision and attention he witnessed from the team at all levels, as well as the well-equipped infrastructure.
The Executive Director of the National Accreditation Council pointed out that achieving this milestone required the center to successfully pass auditing, review, inspection, and compliance with international accreditation requirements as one of the most important accredited training providers.
Major General Walid Awad, Head of the Vocational Training Center in Port Said (Al-Abrantia), received the center’s international accreditation certificate from Engineer Mohamed Hassan Abdel Halim, Executive Director of the National Accreditation Council, in the presence of Engineer Sabri Nasr, Head of the Technical Office of the Authority, and Engineer Ahmed Nasr, Director of the Department of Granting Accreditation Certificates to Individuals.
