Seaonics has secured a contract with VARD to supply an integrated fishery package for Rosund Drift’s new stern trawler, reinforcing its position as a provider of advanced equipment for modern fishing vessels.
Under the agreement, the vessel will be fitted with Seaonics’ electric trawl winches and deck cranes, designed to support efficient, reliable and future-ready fishing operations. Delivery of the vessel is scheduled for the third quarter of 2028.
The company’s electric trawl winch system is engineered for demanding trawling operations, providing precise control and consistent pulling power across all wire layers to help maintain efficiency throughout the fishing cycle. The electric design also enables energy regeneration back into the vessel’s power system while reducing maintenance requirements compared with conventional hydraulic solutions.
“By combining specialized winches, cranes and control systems, we aim to support Rosund Drift with a handling solution tailored to the demands of modern fishing operations,” said Alexander Slinning, Sales Manager for Ocean Harvesting and Research & Exploration at Seaonics.
