A delegation from the General Authority for Transport in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia visited the State Agency for Maritime Navigation and Ports of the Republic of Azerbaijan, with the aim of activating the memorandum of mutual recognition of seafarers’ certificates between the two countries, in accordance with the provisions of the STCW International Convention and its amendments, in a step aimed at strengthening maritime cooperation between the Kingdom and Azerbaijan.
The Public Transport Authority explained that the visit focuses on supporting cooperation in the fields of maritime education and training, and exchanging experiences, which contributes to developing national maritime competencies and raising their readiness according to the best international standards, in addition to expanding opportunities for international recognition of maritime certificates.
Both sides emphasized the importance of strengthening the partnership in the maritime transport sector, which supports the development of human capabilities, the exchange of technical and training expertise, and contributes to raising the efficiency of workers in the maritime sector in both countries.
