SABER-1 has completed its first transverse docking operation with the safe docking of the floating dock SABER-2, marking a new operational milestone for the facility.
The achievement follows previous successful operations, including a jack-up barge operation in Ras Al Khaimah and a 9,000-ton load-out and float-off at Khalifa Port, reflecting the continued execution of complex marine activities.
SABER-1 has a longitudinal lifting capacity of 16,500 tons, a transverse lifting capacity of 11,500 tons, and a docking width of 47 metres. It is currently the only floating dry dock in the United Arab Emirates capable of accommodating jack-up barges in a transverse docking configuration.
The operation further demonstrates SABER-1’s capability to support marine, offshore, and heavy-lift projects in the region.
