As part of the first pillar of the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources’ strategy aimed at increasing natural gas production and strengthening Egypt’s energy security, Petroleum Marine Services (PMS) has commenced the laying of the first subsea pipeline within the Fourth Phase of the KAMOSE Gas Field Development Project, operated by North Sinai Petroleum Company (NOSPCO).
The ongoing works include the laying of the first 8-inch subsea pipeline, with total length 8 kilometers between the Mobile Offshore Production Unit (MOPU) and the HOOR 1-2 platform location. The operation is being executed in accordance with the approved project schedule using PMS’s owned pipelay barge, PMS-12, which specializes in offshore pipeline laying and production platform installation activities.
The fourth development phase includes the installation of three new offshore production platforms Hoor, KSE-1, and Snefru as well as the laying of three 8-inch subsea pipelines to connect the new platforms to the existing production network and to the MOPU. These activities are expected to accelerate production start-up and increase the overall production capacity of the KAMOSE Gas Field.
This project builds upon PMS’s successful performance in the previous phases of the KAMOSE Gas Field Development Project. During the third phase, the company successfully completed the installation of five offshore production platforms and the laying of five subsea pipelines, contributing significantly to increased production and supporting Egypt’s objectives for the development of its natural gas resources.
PMS was awarded the contract for the fourth phase of the KAMOSE Gas Field Development Project, reflecting the continued confidence in the company’s technical expertise, execution capabilities, and extensive experience in delivering strategic offshore projects for Egypt’s petroleum sector.
