Orient Overseas Container Line Ltd. (OOCL) held a naming ceremony on May 8 for the OOCL Wisdom, its first methanol dual-fuel container vessel and the first in a series of seven ships.
With a maximum capacity of 24,168 TEU, the OOCL Wisdom is currently the world’s largest methanol dual-fuel container vessel. As explained, It is equipped with methanol dual-fuel systems across its main engines, auxiliary engines, and boilers, and incorporates advanced energy-efficiency management, intelligent monitoring and safety systems, aiming to combine environmental performance with digital technology and high operational efficiency.
According to the company statement, the delivery of the vessel represents a key milestone in OOCL’s push toward technological innovation and low-carbon fleet development.
