His Excellency the Minister of Transport and Logistics Services and Chairman of the Board of the Saudi Ports Authority “Mawani”, Eng. Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser, signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Secretary-General of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), Ms. Rebeca Grynspan, to organize the Global Supply Chain Forum (GSCF) 2026.
The signing took place in the presence of the Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the United Nations in Geneva, Ambassador Abdulmohsen Majed Binkhothaila, and the President of the Saudi Ports Authority, Eng. Suliman bin Khalid Al-Mazroua, in a step that supports the Kingdom’s readiness to host this prominent international event.
The MoU represents an extension of the existing partnership between the two parties and underscores the Kingdom’s growing role in leading global dialogue on the future of logistics services and supply chains.
The cooperation aims to ensure the professional organization of the Forum through close coordination between Mawani and UNCTAD across logistical, organizational, and technical aspects. This collaboration will deliver an integrated experience for participants and enhance the quality of the Forum’s outcomes by supporting the work of UNCTAD’s preparatory teams throughout the event’s preparation stages.
This partnership reflects the Kingdom’s commitment to supporting international efforts to develop the maritime sector and strengthen the resilience and sustainability of global supply chains. It also highlights Mawani’s role as an active partner in enabling global initiatives that contribute to building a more efficient and sustainable future for the logistics sector.
The Global Supply Chain Forum 2026 is scheduled to take place from 29 November to 1 December in Riyadh, at the King Abdulaziz International Conference Center, concurrently with the second edition of the Global Logistics Forum. This alignment will enhance integration between national and international initiatives related to the logistics sector and supply chains.
H.E. Eng. Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser emphasized that hosting the Global Supply Chain Forum 2026 embodies the Kingdom’s advanced position as a global logistics hub connecting three continents, and reflects the rapid progress in achieving the objectives of the National Transport and Logistics Strategy. He noted that the Forum will serve as an international platform to strengthen partnerships, exchange expertise, and foster innovation, contributing to improved efficiency and sustainability of global supply chains.
For his part, H.E. Eng. Suliman bin Khalid Al-Mazroua stated that organizing the Forum is an extension of Mawani’s role in empowering the maritime sector and enhancing its competitiveness. He affirmed that Mawani will leverage its organizational and operational capabilities to deliver a distinguished edition that reflects the advancement of the Saudi ports ecosystem, supports integration between ports and global supply chains, and reinforces the Kingdom’s standing as a key hub in international trade flows.
