The Marine Care Association has announced the admission of Antipollution Egypt as a new member. The company is an Egyptian entity established through a partnership between V Group of Companies and the Suez Canal Authority (SCA), and aligns with Egypt’s ambition to develop the world’s first Green Canal by 2030.
“We are very pleased to welcome Antipollution Egypt as a new member and welcome the ambitions of both Antipollution Egypt and the state to develop such a logistic hub. Its strategic location between the Mediterranean and Red Seas, linked by the Suez Canal, has historically facilitated trade and communication. We wish all the best to Antipollution Egypt and hope they will find our network helpful to develop the best practices in the region.” says Marga Hauttekeete, President of MCA
By joining MCA, Antipollution Egypt gains access to a network of industry leaders, technical experts, regulators, and service providers dedicated to promoting excellence in maritime environmental protection. This platform will facilitate the exchange of knowledge, operational experience, and innovative solutions that can enhance our service quality and operational efficiency”, states Kriton Katsamenis, CEO of Antipollution Egypt.
“All members are important and have a role to play. I am particularly pleased with our international expansion. Africa is an important continent, and its largest ports are keen to establish first-class port reception facilities. I sincerely hope that MCA can provide support to all those seeking a platform for exchanging experience and best practice on all matters relating to ship-generated waste. I am looking forward to working with Antipollution Egypt”, adds Sophie Delair, Secretary General of Marine Care Association.
MARINE CARE ASSOCIATION gathers port reception facilities dealing with the collection and treatment of ship generated waste. It has now 43 members from 26 countries with a presence in Europe, Africa, Middle East and North America. For any further information, do not hesitate to contact Sophie Delair, Secretary.
