A new Libyan tanker player has emerged as the buyer of a 10-year-old suezmax that Hayfin Capital is selling in a deal brokers say sets a benchmark price for vessels of this vintage.
TradeWinds understands from sources with knowledge of the deal that final negotiations are underway that will see the 157,500-dwt GH Holiday (built 2016) sold to United Libyan Maritime Transport Company & Logistics Services (ULMTC) for $81m, although some suggest the price could be as high as $85m.
Earlier this week, multiple brokers had linked the ship to Libya’s state-owned General National Maritime Transport Co (GNMTC).
