In a significant step toward strengthening international maritime cooperation, the Maritime Safety and Training Institute (MARSATI) had the honour of welcoming a high-level joint delegation from the Italian and Lebanese Navies on an official visit to its campus in Batroun.
The Italian Navy delegation comprised:
Commander Giuseppe Pasquino, Lieutenant Commander (OF-3) Vincenzo Mazzella,
Petty Officer Giovanni Sica, Trooper Cristian Cavalera, Sergeant Sascia De Michele
The Lebanese Navy was represented by Major Ahmad Tradieh and Adjutant Robel Kheir, accompanied by several naval officers and personnel.
The delegation was received by MARSATI’s Director, Dr. Estephan Assal, alongside the Institute’s professional staff.
The visit commenced with a comprehensive guided tour of MARSATI’s facilities, during which the delegates were introduced to the Institute’s training programmes, operational capabilities, and modern maritime infrastructure. The visiting officers expressed their high regard for the academy’s rigorous training standards and state-of-the-art facilities.
The tour was followed by a formal meeting in which both sides explored avenues of mutual interest. Discussions focused on identifying potential collaborative projects, joint training exercises, and knowledge-exchange programmes aimed at enhancing maritime safety, education, and security across the region.
The visit reflects MARSATI’s growing role as a regional hub for maritime excellence and its commitment to fostering bilateral and multilateral partnerships in the maritime sector.
