Drydocks World has successfully launched its new 5,000-tonne floating crane, ALNOKHADA, marking a significant milestone in the project’s development as it moves into the final outfitting and load-testing phase ahead of commissioning.
Developed in partnership with ZPMC Offshore, ALNOKHADA is set to become one of the region’s most capable heavy-lift assets, strengthening Drydocks World’s capacity to support complex offshore, industrial, and energy projects.
The crane, named in tribute to the Gulf’s historic maritime captains, measures 138.5 metres in length with a 52-metre beam and is equipped with a 5,000-tonne main hook and a 600-tonne auxiliary hook capable of reaching heights of up to 180 metres.
Once fully operational, ALNOKHADA will play a key role in expanding heavy-lift capabilities across the Middle East, supporting the growing demands of the offshore and energy sectors.
