Arabian Drilling, Saudi Arabia’s largest onshore and offshore drilling company by fleet size, has received notification to resume operations of three offshore rigs that were suspended earlier in 2026, marking the restart of offshore activities following the temporary halt. The suspensions, implemented as a precautionary measure in response to ongoing tensions in the Middle East, were temporary and undertaken in close coordination with clients and relevant stakeholders, prioritising safety.
The company expects the remaining suspended offshore rigs to commence operations in the second half of 2026, restoring full activity across the offshore fleet.
As a result, offshore fleet utilisation is projected to reach 100% by the end of 2026, reflecting a full recovery from the temporary disruption and a return to normalised operating conditions.
When the suspensions were implemented, they were only for offshore rigs. The company’s onshore rig fleet of 39 rigs continued to operate at full capacity without disruption.
“As activity resumes, our focus remains on safe, efficient execution and consistently high standards of service delivery,” said Fahad Albani, CEO of Arabian Drilling.
