The Saudi Ports Authority “Mawani” announced the addition of Marsa Ocean Shipping’s new service “RSX” to Jeddah Islamic Port, contributing to enhancing the competitiveness of the Kingdom’s ports, facilitating global trade flows, and improving operational efficiency.
The new shipping service connects Jeddah Islamic Port with three regional and global ports, Aden and Hodeidah in Yemen, and Djibouti, before returning to Jeddah Islamic Port, with a capacity of up to 372 TEUs.
This initiative reflects Mawani’s efforts to improve the Kingdom’s ranking in global performance indicators and support national exports, in line with the objectives of the National Transport and Logistics Strategy, reinforcing Saudi Arabia’s standing as a global logistics hub connecting the three continents.
It is worth noting that Jeddah Islamic Port features 62 multipurpose berths, a logistics park for warehousing and re-export, and a direct truck transport system to and from the port. It also includes several specialized terminals and advanced facilities, such as two container terminals and a range of marine service berths, with a total capacity of up to 130 million tons.
