The Arab Shipbuilding and Repair Yard Company (ASRY) has secured two major honours at The Global Economics Awards 2024. ASRY’s Commercial Vice President, Sauvir Sarkar, and Quality Assurance and Control Manager, Hassan Al Saffar, accepted the awards during a ceremony held in Dubai earlier this month.
The recognition includes Best Dry-Docking Facility. Speaking about the achievement, ASRY’S Chief Executive Officer Dr Ahmed AlAbri said: ‘This milestone reinforces ASRY’s strong reputation for delivering reliable maritime services that cater to its global clientele, while also highlighting our continued efforts to strengthen the company’s position as a leader in the maritime industry.’
Hassan Al Saffar, who accepted the Excellence in Sustainable Ship Recycling Practices award, remarked: ‘ASRY’s environmentally sound approach to ship recycling reflects the company’s determination to uphold environmental sustainability. We remain focused on delivering practical solutions through green technologies and eco-friendly operations, aiming to meet the needs of our clients and contribute positively to the community.’
