The Saudi Ports Authority “Mawani” has announced the addition of the shipping service “Jebel Ali Middle East Express”, operated by CMA CGM, to King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam. The new service will enhance the competitiveness of Saudi ports within the global maritime transport network, support smoother trade flows, broaden commercial opportunities, and elevate operational performance.
The newly introduced service connects King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam with Shuwaikh Port in Kuwait, Bahrain Port in Bahrain, and Khalifa Port in the United Arab Emirates, with a handling capacity of 2,202 TEUs.
This step comes as part of Mawani’s efforts to strengthen Saudi Arabia’s ranking in global performance indices, and support the movement of national exports, in line with the targets of the National Transport and Logistics Strategy (NTLS), to solidify the Kingdom’s standing as a global logistics hub bridging the three continents.
It is worth noting that King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam, located on the Arabian Gulf, features 43 multi-purpose berths equipped with modern facilities capable of handling all types of cargo, including containerized and industrial goods. The port also includes a ship repair facility, making it a key logistics gateway serving trade and industry across the Eastern Province.
